Transformers Prime

Breakdown/Knock Out
I see their relationship as a rare instance of mutual respect and almost-unconditional loyalty among the Decepticon ranks. Knock Out never seems to have a harsh word for Breakdown and carries out (what he perceives to be) Breakdown’s wishes to truly gruesome lengths; Breakdown gets drawn into Knock Out’s schemes despite his better instincts and follows his orders without question. They finish each other’s sentences, riff off each other’s terrible jokes, egg each other on into increasingly dastardly deeds, and seem to accept each other as they are, flaws and all. And of course, there’s that rotary buffing. Breakdown and Knock Out very much feel like an old married couple (though I wouldn’t be opposed to some get-together fic if that’s what you wanted to write). They’d kill for each other without a moment’s hesitation, and they probably have.

It’s not all sweetness and light, though: I’d like to see some conflict between them. Perhaps Breakdown shows flickers of a conscience and Knock Out has none; perhaps Knock Out harvests some poor sap’s organs for Breakdown’s benefit. I’d also like to see exploration of their difference in rank and (apparent) social class. How free is Breakdown to say no to Knock Out? Is their relationship taboo or hidden? (Was it legal before the war?) In an AU in which Breakdown lives, do they clash?

I’d also love to see any of the following: mechpreg or egg-laying (prefer pregnant Breakdown); emphasis on their vastly unequal size and strength/different biology; pre-war backstory; post-war fallout; canon-typical Team Rocket shenanigans; mutual devotion contrasted with cheerful brutality to everyone else; one going on a roaring rampage of revenge when the other is hurt; tender or gruff hurt/comfort; and, of course, some tender bathing and maintenance.

Knock Out/Starscream

I see them as fair-weather friends who’d turn on each other at the drop of a hat yet are surprised to be themselves betrayed. Starscream treats Knock Out as a punching bag; under a thin veneer of politeness, Knock Out gives as good as he gets. Starscream needs a sympathetic audience; Knock Out is a pathologically insubordinate smartass. Starscream has no time for anyone but himself; neither does Knock Out. There’s no situation that they can’t bungle. Knock Out was probably right when he said that Starscream would fire him out the airlock at the first opportunity--and he’s rude--and Starscream would find a way to make it Knock Out’s fault. And I love Starscream’s contempt for Knock Out’s alt.

I’m intrigued by the suggestion in Knock Out’s introductory episode that Starscream knew of Knock Out before the show. Did they have a past early in the war? I’d also like to see them reunited by some postwar twist of politics. Or some good old-fashioned canon-typical shenanigans would be great: perhaps Knock Out does some malpractice under the guise of routine medical care, or Starscream sends Knock Out on a truly miserable mission. If you’d like to write sex, this would be a good pairing for the crappiest sex you can imagine.

Bulkhead & Miko Nakadai

Their relationship was one of the most human, sweet things about the canon for me: while Bulkhead starts the show seeing Miko as a fragile, alien being to protect, and Miko just sees a big alien robot from space (straight out of a monster movie), they're almost immediately bonded together as individuals. The first season in particular puts a lot of focus on how much fun they have together. One gets the sense Bulkhead doesn't get to have a lot of fun during an apocalyptic civil war.

This would be a good relationship for canon-typical adventures set during the canon itself or well afterward. I'd like to see what the future holds for Miko: I can't see her settling down in an ordinary life after the war's end. Perhaps she struggles to adapt to a life where she's not being shot at regularly. Perhaps she makes a career in alien investigations for Unit: E. (Does she return to Japan? Does she travel the world?) Maybe she resents Bulkhead for leaving; maybe she comes after him, years or even decades later, as human space travel technology takes off (with a little help from Ratchet?).

If you want to go with something darker, being around Bulkhead is endangering Miko--she really is a squishy, breakable little human, and she's a teenager thrown into war who learns to kill and sees her big lovable robot buddy nearly killed several times. Bulkhead does his best to protect her, but his best isn't--cannot be--good enough. I'd love a fic that explored this, as well as how responsible Miko might feel for Bulkhead's well-being.

I'd also like some focus on Bulkhead's interiority: on his inferiority complex, on his willingness to let a helpless enemy die (until Miko reminds him of the chance of a rematch), on his fear of becoming useless after an injury and his anger toward Smokescreen. I'd love to see someone explore the darker sides of his character here.

General Likes:

-Dystopian settings, including depictions of political repression and fantasy bigotry
-Body horror, including surgical horror, organ harvesting, or mutation into something horrifying
-Villain protagonists being repulsive

-Frametypes having different physiological needs

-Focus on the alienness of Cybertronians

-Robot whump

-Ideological conflicts, especially irreconcilable ones
-Big, teeming, bizarre cities

-Corruption arcs or descent into evil
-Relationships in which both characters are equally formidable in different ways

Note: I’m OK with past Breakdown/Knock Out in a Knock Out/Starscream fic; I’m also okay with Breakdown knowing about Starscream and being okay with it, if you want to write both pairings overlapping.

Soundwave/Shockwave

The heart of this pairing for me is their superficial similarity--both cold, faceless, alien, highly competent, and dedicated to their work--layered over some striking differences. Shockwave is petty, a cauldron of simmering anger, resentment, and dreams of mass-produced armies, and his devotion is as much to warped superscience as it is to the Con cause; Soundwave is a true believer with a trollish streak and perhaps limited emotional range. I’d like to see them bounce off each other as intellectual equals and perhaps rivals.

I’d love to see something prewar exploring Soundwave’s past as a spy or a Councilor (or perhaps both?). We know that Shockwave was a surgeon to the gladiators and that he was experimenting with combiners before the war. Did Soundwave have ethical qualms, or did he allow it for the greater good--or did he even approve? I’d also love to see anything exploring Shockwave’s amorality and Soundwave’s warped belief in the cause. The nastier the better. You cannot go too dark with this.

DNWs:

- Graphic underage sex; references to teenage sex are fine
- First-person POV
- Real-world racist or homophobic language in any context (e.g., “fruity”); fantastic bigotry (e.g., frametype discrimination) is extremely welcome
- Gender headcanons (e.g., noncanon pronouns or trans headcanons)
- Humanoid vaginas/valves on male robots (nonhuman-looking slits or fantasy orifices are fine!)
- Knock Out as the receptive partner in penetrative sex
-References to real-world disasters, famines, genocides, etc. within last 200 years: e.g., no Nazis, Holodomor, residential schools, or Hurricane Katrina; wars are fine if focus is not on real-world war crimes
- Soundwave as “parent” of his cassettes
-Trines
-Noncon between requested pairing

Transformers: Prime

Breakdown/Knock Out

This pairing is really ripe for leaning into the nastier parts of the TFP universe. What if Knock Out kept Terrorcon Breakdown around as a test subject? What was Knock Out doing early in the war? (I'd like to see some Decepticon super-science.)

I love Knock Out and Breakdown's mutual respect, particularly contrasted with how cheerfully brutal they are to everyone else around them. I'd like to see them being horrible.

Particular likes: dark comedy; mad science; punny banter; Breakdown as a respected and valued partner; emphasis on their size difference; mechpreg (prefer Breakdown pregnant).

Wheeljack/Bulkhead
I really love the little elements of darkness in both of their characters, tempered by a genuine sweetness (more obviously in Bulkhead). I'd love to see fic that treats Bulkhead as a deeply flawed person--willing to beat "Starscream" to death without a second thought--who cares deeply for Wheeljack and his team, and whose comedic qualities don't overshadow his real competence on the battlefield. I'd also like to see these two pre- or post-war. What did Wheeljack do after the war? What was he like pre-war? Does Bulkhead's recovery from Tox-En continue to affect him?

Particular likes: explosions; difficulty with intimacy and communication; unspoken affection; clashes with old enemies; "us against the world."

Megatron & Soundwave or Megatron/Soundwave
I'm really interested in the early days of the revolution here. What were Megatronus and Soundwave like as gladiators? Were they rivals? Brothers in arms? If you want to write their relationship as romantic, I'd be interested in unrequited affection running either way--particularly if Soundwave can't reciprocate Megatron's interest. I'm also interested in hearing about Soundwave as a Councilor, if you choose to go that route with his backstory.

For this pairing, I DNW the cassettes portrayed as Soundwave's children or other family of any kind.

Megatron/Orion Pax
I love the layers of betrayal, hurt, and resentment here. I'd love something set just before Orion is declared the new Prime, or else something set during the "Orion Pax" arc of Season 2. The twistier and crueler, the better.

Transformers Cyberverse
Starscream & Quintessons
The sheer horror in the Quintesson arc blew me away. I'd like something focusing on Starscream's experiences at the hands/tentacles of the Quintesson scientist: how much is he still Starscream? Why is he so dominant over the other heads (and what species are they)? What did he go through in that lab? How loyal is he to the Quintessons? This would be a great one for body horror.

Transformers IDW
Rattrap/Starscream
I'm eager to see anything you come up with for this pairing! The political plotlines in TAAO were my favorite part of IDW, and I loved Rattrap's slipperiness and the complexity of his relationship with Starscream. I'd like to see Rattrap trying to save Starscream from himself...or perhaps trying to save Cybertron from him. Bonus points if you can work in some conflict with the ordinary people or the Council of Worlds.

I DNW:
-Gender/sexuality headcanons, e.g., non-canon pronouns
-PIV/spike-in-valve sex
-Scat
-Watersports
-Soulmate AUs
-Humanformers
-Noncon or dubcon sex

Art Likes:
I'm open to any style, including more symbolic representations of a scene.

I like meaningful touches, physical intimacy (not necessarily sex, although that might be fun), robogore, moments of action, in-universe documents, fun things with light and shadow, and scenery. If you choose to draw for TFP, I'd really like the characters in a scenic Nevada desert. A single moment from any of my prompts would also be great.

Art DNWs:
Please don't give the TFP characters noses.
